    Ingrina

    A small, cliff-framed south-coast beach.

Ingrina is a compact sandy cove near Raposeira, sheltered between low rocky headlands. It is the calmer twin of neighbouring Zavial — small, easy to reach, with a simple beach restaurant and rock pools at low tide.

Lagos is the ideal base for exploring the entire coastline.

    Highlights

    • Sheltered cove with usually calm, clear water
    • Rock pools and snorkelling at the eastern end
    • Beach restaurant a few steps from the sand
    • Zavial within a five-minute drive

    Best for

    • Families
    • Snorkelling
    • Half-day beach trips

    How to get there

By car: from Lagos, follow the N125 west to Raposeira and turn south at the signposted access road — about 25 minutes in total, with a car park just above the beach. By local bus: Vamus services between Lagos and Sagres stop at Raposeira, from where the beach is roughly 3 km downhill on a quiet road. By bicycle: around 25 km from Lagos, mostly on the N125 before the quiet descent through Hortas do Tabual. On foot: the coastal path links Ingrina and Zavial in about 30 minutes of easy clifftop walking.

    The cove

Ingrina is small, so it feels full sooner than the bigger beaches, but the water is usually calm and shallow near the shore. The rocks at either end hold pools at low tide, which keeps children busy for hours.

    Practical notes

Parking is limited and fills by late morning in July and August. Combining Ingrina with Zavial in one trip is the easiest way to make the drive worthwhile.

    Good to know

    Is Ingrina good for children?

Yes — it is sheltered, the water is usually calm, and the rock pools at the eastern end are a natural playground at low tide.

Can I walk between Ingrina and Zavial?

Yes. The clifftop path between the two coves takes about 30 minutes each way and is straightforward in comfortable shoes.

    Is there anywhere to eat?

There is a simple beach restaurant just above the sand, open through the main season.
