Praia da Figueira is reached on foot, down a quiet valley track from the hamlet of Figueira near Budens. That short walk is exactly why it stays empty: no beach bar, no facilities, just a small sandy cove between low cliffs, about 25 minutes west of Lagos.
Lagos is the ideal base for exploring the entire coastline.

How to get there
By car: from Lagos, follow the N125 west for about 20 minutes to Budens, then turn towards Figueira and park at the end of the surfaced road — the beach is a 20–25 minute walk down the valley track from there. By local bus: Vamus services between Lagos and Sagres stop at Budens, from where it is roughly 3 km on foot to the beach. By bicycle: around 20 km from Lagos on the N125 and quiet side roads, with the last stretch on gravel best walked. On foot: the coastal path from Salema continues west above Figueira, so the cove works well as a stop on a longer clifftop walk.
What to expect
There is nothing at Figueira except sand, water and cliffs — bring everything you need, including water and shade. The valley walk is flat and easy, but it is exposed, so midday in high summer is harder work than early morning or late afternoon.
Practical notes
The parking area at the end of the road is small and informal. Swimming is generally fine on calm days, but there are no lifeguards, so judge the swell before going in.
